A Feeling for Snow

When I first experienced snow as a 10 year old, I remember being surprised at its consistency. This quilt is dedicated to my sister Chantel, a snowboarding enthusiast with a great affinity for the snow.  I was inspired by blue and white folk embroidery and Nordic knitwear.  I created my snowflakes with freezer paper scherenschnitte stencils and fabric paints.
