Lost & Foundby BrendaIn May 2009, a team of archaeologists and forensic anthropologists begin the painstaking task of exhuming and identifying up to 400 British and Australian World War I soldiers found buried in a mass grave near the village of Fromelles. The bodies recovered from the pits will be reinterred in individual graves in a new military cemetery and, where possible, their identity will be restored. See my blog post for more details. |
