In the army, I am known only by my sponsor's social security number. Everything I do is in the context of me being attached to him. "Hello my Name is..." stickers are such a classic means of identity. However, it being inappropriate to publish my husband's social security number publicly, I made up the one on the quilt. As Terry pointed out though, defining my identity with his number tells the world nothing -- so perhaps a meaningless number fits the bill after all! My blog postincludes another quilt I made for this theme.
